Source: A Barolo Lover’s Secret!
The Vietti winery, now owned by the family’s fourth generation, is based in the small medieval village of Castiglione Falletto, the heart of Piedmont’s famous “Langhe” wine region. Here the Currado family carefully and patiently handcrafts lauded wines that are the result of a unique combination of sun and soil.

“The 2011 Barolo Castiglione is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Sweet red berries, freshly cut flowers, spices and mint are some of the many notes that grace the palate in a young Barolo with extraordinary finesse. Although just bottled, the 2011 shows very, very well today.” Antonio Galloni ************************ And for your Easter Cake!

From the greatest vintage in Barolo in decades, the Master Blaster Angelo Gaja has created two wines for the Ages!!
“The 2010 Conteisa is a stunner with all the overwhelming elegance that is inherent to this vintage. It opens steadily to reveal red flower, cassis, baking spice, anisette and tobacco. The aromas are expressive and deep with enduring richness. The tannins are slightly sweet and already soft. This is a collectors’ choice. Drink: 2018-2040.”
“The 2010 Sperss delivers a broad approach to the bouquet with bold flavors of red fruit, spice and milk chocolate that caress the palate. The wine sports a broad frame with beautiful fruit filling at its core. The tannins in Sperss are very firm and structured and this wine won’t be ready for five to ten more years. Drink: 2018-2040.”
